Policy for blocking websites

Policy for blocking a web space and deleting files

The LL-Webdesign team uses the following policy to decide which criteria are used to block a web space/website or delete files.

1 Fully automated blocking, information to the user

1.1 Misuse of resources

Automatic systems block the web space/website to ensure system stability within a few seconds as soon as the following is detected:

1. DDoS/DoS/flood attacks/port scans/pen tests etc.
2. Significant CPU usage

The web space is usually not reactivated in this case.

2 Manual, immediate blocking without setting a deadline, information to the user

In this case, the web space is blocked immediately to prevent damage to the website visitors or LLWebdesign users.

2.1 Security-related blocking

In the following cases, HTTP(S) access is blocked, a new FTP password is generated and the web space is reactivated after the user has resolved the problem:

1. Malware or virus infection of the web space (e.g. “drive by downloads”)
2. Security gaps in the PHP system used
3. Hacked/manipulated web space
4. Published/intercepted access data for the web space
5. Receipt of an abuse report where the alleged violation of law is obvious

2.2 Violations of the law

As a rule, HTTP(S) and FTP access is blocked without reactivation in the following cases:

1. Violation of the terms and conditions
2. Violation of the law (unless specified in more detail)
3. Phishing websites
4. Fraudulent websites, scams and “offshore hosting”
5. Spyware, stealers, keyloggers, screen captures
6. Spam-mailer, mailbombers

2.3 Violation of the fair use principle

As a rule, HTTP(S) and FTP are blocked without re-activation in the case of:

1. File sharing, leeching
2. Proxy scripts, chat bots and game bots
3. Openly accessible web shells
4. Link networks that only serve to generate a large number of backlinks
5. Huge maps with zoom levels, especially Minecraft maps etc.
6. In-game scripts/assets for computer games etc.

3 Manual blocking with a deadline

The user is informed and only blocked after the deadline has expired without the problem being resolved. The deadline is normally 72 hours and can be shortened in exceptional cases. A shortening of the deadline is justified.

1. Neglected web space (e.g. forums or guest books filled with spam bots)
2. Link farm
3. When an abuse report is received, provided the violation is not obvious
4. Commercial websites with inadequate/incorrect provider identification
5. Copyright violations
6. Pornography (the sexual act or primary sexual characteristics are explicitly shown and their sexual activity is deliberately emphasized; the primary intention is to sexually arouse the consumer)

4. Content that we delete

Depending on the extent of the offense, individual files or the entire web space will be deleted.

1. Downloads, provided they are obviously protected by copyright
2. A blocked web space, provided there is no response to the blocking notification within 6 weeks
3. Freespace only: Using the web space as a cloud or private backup *
4. Freespace only: Files over 20 MB *
5. reespace only: Webcam/IPCam images, provided there is no response from the operator to the blocking notification within a week *

* This point only applies to the free space (= this content is OK for web hosting packages).
